Christmas Wreaths and Garland in Southwest Florida

The part of the house people actually walk up to.

Rooflines are what the street sees. Wreaths and garland are what your guests see from three feet away, which is a much harder test, and the reason we decorate them properly rather than hanging something off a shelf.

Everything is sized to the opening it goes on, decorated to a scheme that suits the house, and hung by us.

Included

What we make and hang

  • Front-door wreaths

Sized to the door, decorated to a scheme, lit or unlit. The single highest-impact item on most homes.

  • Door and window surrounds

Garland framing the entry, finished with bows and accents rather than simply draped.

  • Columns and railings

Wrapped garland with lighting run through it: the detail that ties an entry together.

  • Balconies and lanais

Common on Florida homes and frequently overlooked. Garland along a second-floor rail reads beautifully from the street.

  • Mailboxes and lamp posts

Small, cheap, and disproportionately effective at making the whole property feel considered.

Detail

How we approach the decorating

One scheme, whole house

Ribbon, accents and greenery are chosen to work with your exterior colors and with whatever lighting is going on the house. It should look designed, not assembled.

Real weight and depth

Thin garland looks thin from the street. We use full greenery and layer the accents so it reads properly at a distance and up close.

Hung, maintained and removed

Same as the lighting. We put it up, look after it, and take it away in January.

The work

Recent entry work

  • A blue clapboard home with garland wrapped around the porch columns and framing the front door, and a bow-tied wreath on the second-floor balcony

Garland on the columns and door surround, with a wreath carried up to the balcony rail.

Wreaths & Garland questions

Can I keep the wreaths at the end of the season?

This depends on how your package is written. Ask us when we quote and we will make it explicit either way.

Real greenery or artificial?

Artificial, and deliberately so. In the Florida heat, fresh greenery will not last the season looking good. Modern artificial greenery holds its color and shape from the first week to the last.

Can you match a color scheme I already use indoors?

Usually yes. Bring photos or a ribbon sample to the design consult and we will work to it.

Do you decorate interiors?

Ask us. It is not part of our standard exterior packages, so we will tell you honestly whether we can take it on.
